How To Use Loose Silver Chain
This chain is ideal for both adding findings to (jump rings and carabiner or lobster clasps) with and without soldering, or for use in permanent jewellery making. Use the chart below to estimate the length of chain you’ll need. This is a great tool for beginners who only want to buy enough chain for one client before they’re ready to buy by the metre or on a spool.
925 Sterling Silver

How to Measure Your Client’s Wrist:
- Use a flexible measuring tape: Wrap it around the part of their wrist where they would normally wear a bracelet. Make sure it’s snug but not too tight.
- Mark the measurement: Note the point where the ends of the measuring tape meet.
- If you don’t have a flexible measuring tape: Use a piece of string or paper strip. Wrap it around your client’s wrist and mark the point where it meets. Then, lay the string or paper strip flat and measure the length with a ruler.
Choosing the Right Fit:
- Snug Fit: The bracelet fits closely to their skin without being uncomfortable.
- Comfort Fit: The bracelet moves slightly and doesn’t feel tight. This is a common preference.
- Loose Fit: The bracelet hangs down on their hand and moves freely.
Important Considerations:
- Beads and Charms: If their bracelet will have large beads or charms, you might want to add an extra 0.5 cm to 1 cm (approximately 0.2″ to 0.4″) to the recommended length for a comfort fit to ensure it’s not too tight.
- Bracelet Style: Cuff bracelets and bangle bracelets are sized differently and usually correspond directly to your wrist circumference.
- Personal Preference: Ultimately, the best bracelet length depends on their personal preference.
I hope this helps you find the perfect bracelet size! Let me know if you have any other questions.
Necklace Chains Hallmarking
Our chains are unhallmarked, if they are over 7.76g they will be hallmarked. Please note that you may be required to have items hallmarked in your own country depending on rules and restrictions for hallmarking weights (for example in ROI) – we are selling business to business so are exempt.
