Description
Precious Metal Leaf is an eco friendly and plastic-free addition to any resin jewellery. Simply mix a little into your resin (UV or epoxy) or place in the mould before or adding the resin. If you’re adding the gold leaf first, please make sure you recoat the piece or do a thin clear layer of resin first so that the gold leaf doesn’t come through the resin of the finished piece. It can also be kneaded into translucent polymer clay or brushed on before baking.
Or gold-filled leaf is two layers of pure gold sandwiching bronze that is then hammered out very thin. It comes in loose leaf and can be picked up with a cocktail stick or tweezers.
Please read our full Terms and Conditions and FAQ page before ordering.
Using Precious Metal Leaf
Precious metal leaf is a metal leaf made from copper or precious metals such as gold, which has been hammered into incredibly fine sheets for use in making resin keepsake, memorial and breastmilk jewellery. Perfect for use with cremation ashes, locks of hair and fur, umbilical cord and placenta or for adding boobie awards to breastmilk jewellery.
This is supplied as loose leaf in booklets of 5 or 25; each leaf in the book is separated by sheets of rouge paper but is not adhered to it. In order to remove the leaf from the book we recommend you use a Sparkle Applicator or cocktail stick to pick up the leaf although it can be handled if done so delicately and with clean, grease-free fingers. Loose leaf is suitable for most resin work including UV and epoxy resin.
Most precious metal leaf will tarnish over time and requires sealing in resin to protect it. It must be completely encased in resin and should be stored in sealed bags with silica gel sachets when not in use to prevent tarnish.
Please note that this is by loose, unpacked volume, not weight.
Simply premix with resin then pour this into your mould, or push it into a mould already filled with resin. You can apply to the mould but it’s best to add a thin layer of resin first, or coat the piece after making to protect the leaf. You can also add your clients’ elements or inclusions like breastmilk, lock of hair, umbilical cord and placenta or cremation ashes. Then cure in the usual way.
This video I made shows you how to make a cremation ashes heart necklace with fairy pink resin sparkle mix and gold-filled leaf.

Great gold leaf looks beautiful in the products that I’ve made with it. Was particularly useful for my ring that I made to celebrate a year of breastfeeding. Thank you!
