Gold Plated Vermeil Oval Crown Ring

Description

Gold plated silver or gold vermeil Oval Crown Ring Setting made of solid sterling silver. 8x6mm oval silver bezel cup (more options coming soon). Does not include ashes as shown in the pictures. These rings are not made in house so will be available to ship immediately if they’re showing in stock.

Perfect for use with our 8x6mm oval cabochon mould and 8x6mm oval faceted cabochon moulds. You can order some free ring stock images here (these will be added soon) to show your clients some mockups before they buy (please remember the instructions for use advise you to tell your clients results will vary!).

We recommend you buy an 8x6mm crown oval necklace setting to accompany this ring and once you’ve made the cabochon stones you can offer to set the other one as a necklace for a small extra charge (£25 or so). Around half of your customers will take you up on this (just be sure to tell them you’ll still return the extra stone even if they don’t pay!)

Kit Contents

If you’d like to buy this ring as a kit you’ll receive:

• Crown point ring setting
• single 8x6mm oval cabochon mould
• 1x pair of vinyl gloves
• 3 cocktail sticks
• resin sparkle mix sample (random colour)
• 10g bottle of UV resin
• some sandpaper
• label backing paper
• 1x sachet Breastmilk Preservation Powder (breastmilk kit only) and free access to our Breastmilk Jewellery Course plus these Breastmilk Preservation Powder PDF Instructions

You’ll also need to provide yourself (not included):

• an epoxy resin starter kit or a gel nail lamp like this
• your clients’ elements (like breastmilk, ashes, hair etc) and any additional sparkles and dried petals. You can also request some practice ashes here.

And these items make it much easier but aren’t essential!

• a wooden ring clamp to hold the ring in place when setting or curing
• a curved burnisher tool to rub the silver over and hold the stone in place
• a pestle and mortar to grind breastmilk powder, cremation ashes and umbilical cord

Textured Round Ring Setting Sizes

These rings are available in US sizes, please let us know in the comments if you would like one enlarged to a US half or quarter size or a UK size, and choose the size below it. For example, if you would like a UK size M ring, please choose US size 6 and say in the comments “UK size M for the oval crown ring please”. We will resize them and re-polish free of charge and this will add a little extra time to your order, so you may prefer to do it yourself if you have a ring mandrel and rawhide/nylon hammer. You can download our free ring sizing chart here, please order separately so we can mark your order as “shipped” and you can then download it!

Please note, we highly recommend that you advise your customer to consider taking away a quarter of a US ring size to their best fit on these comfort fit bands. For example, if they are a US size 7½ on a normal ring sizer, we’d recommend a 7¼. We will make whatever size you request but four years’ experience making these bands shows us that fit of these rings means they’re a little looser than the plastic ring sizers.

Comfort Fit for Arthritis/Swollen Joints

Comfort fit bands like this ring are ideal for clients with arthritis and swollen joints etc. If you’d like us to press the ring into a slight oval shape for clients with arthritis/swollen knuckles please let us know in the comments. We recommend sizing the client’s finger and not the joint, the oval shape will help them get the ring on and because it can then be more true-to-size, it’s less likely to slip.

Gold Vermeil – 925 Sterling Silver Plated With Gold

The silver in these settings is 925 sterling ecosilver, which is 100% recycled, plated with yellow or rose (red) gold with a thickness of one micron. In the UK this is known as gold vermeil but must be advertised as “silver plated with gold” or “gold plated silver”. Please see our blog on Types of Solid Silver which explains the care instructions for the silver and the metal content, Types of Gold explains more about vermeil. You can advertise these as 925 ecosilver or 925 sterling silver, please remember that because they are only one micron thick gold plated, they can’t be referred to as “vermeil” in the USA. Please check your own country’s laws on selling gold plated silver items!
