Twisted Band Ring Setting made of solid Argentium silver, which is 1% purer than sterling silver. 8mm round or 10x8mm oval solid silver bezel cup (more options coming soon). Does not include ashes as shown in the pictures. These rings take two weeks to produce and send unless otherwise stated. Sometimes this style ring shank is called a rope band.
Perfect for use with our 8mm round cabochon mould and 8mm round faceted cabochon moulds or our 10x8mm oval cabochon moulds. You can order some ring stock images here to show your clients some mockups before they buy (please remember the instructions for use advise you to tell your clients results will vary!).
We recommend you buy a small necklace setting to accompany this ring and once you’ve made the cabochon stones you can offer to set the other one as a necklace for a small extra charge (£25 or so). Around half of your customers will take you up on this (just be sure to tell them you’ll still return the extra stone even if they don’t pay!)
If you’d like to buy this ring as a kit you’ll receive:
- Custom made twisted ring setting
- single 8mm round or 10x8mm oval cabochon mould
- 1x pair of vinyl gloves
- 3 cocktail sticks
- resin sparkle mix sample (random colour)
- 10g bottle of UV resin
- some sandpaper
- label backing paper
- 1x sachet Breastmilk Preservation Powder (breastmilk kit only) and free access to our Breastmilk Jewellery Course plus these Breastmilk Preservation Powder PDF Instructions
You’ll also need to provide yourself (not included):
- an epoxy resin starter kit or a gel nail lamp like this
- your clients’ elements (like breastmilk, ashes, hair etc) and any additional sparkles and dried petals. You can also request some practice ashes here.
And these items make it much easier but aren’t essential!
- a wooden ring clamp to hold the ring in place when setting or curing
- a curved burnisher tool to rub the silver over and hold the stone in place
- a pestle and mortar to grind breastmilk powder, cremation ashes and umbilical cord
Here’s a tutorial on making an ashes ring using a cabochon
To add a lock of hair, we recommend you use a mould and follow this tutorial
This video I made shows you how to make an umbilical cord and breastmilk ring with pearly purple breastmilk sparkle mix using a direct pour method
Twisted Wire Ring Setting Sizes
These twisted wire rings are available in UK half sizes and US quarter sizes, please let us know in the comments and choose the size below. For example, if you would like a UK size P1/2 ring, please choose UK P and say in the comments “size P1/2”.
Please note, we highly recommend that you advise your customer to consider taking away half a UK ring size to their best fit on these comfort fit bands. For example, if they are a UK size L on a normal ring sizer, the might advise them to go for a size K½. We will make whatever size you request but four years’ experience making these bands shows us that extra size is needed because of the extra width.
Comfort Fit for Arthritis/Swollen Joints
Comfort fit bands like this ring are ideal for clients with arthritis and swollen joints etc. If you’d like us to press the ring into a slight oval shape for clients with arthritis/swollen knuckles please let us know in the comments. We recommend sizing the client’s finger and not the joint, the oval shape will help them get the ring on and because it can then be more true-to-size, it’s less likely to slip.

935 Argentium Silver
The silver in these settings is 935 Argentium silver, which is 100% recycled. We create the twisted wire by hand! The bands are Argentium silver and we use sterling silver solder paste. Depending on stock availability, we use sterling, Argentium or pure silver bezel cups. Please see our blog on Types of Solid Silver which explains the care instructions for the silver and the metal content. You can advertise these as 935 antitarnish silver or 925 sterling silver.
