Iridescent Flecks

Description

Iridescent Flecks are hyper light catching versions of the opalescent flakes. Aurora chameleon shards, very lightweight and delicate, turns to powder when pressed.

Suitable for any resin jewellery, especially those made with darker colours. Some people call them opal flakes but they’re not real opal – we sell lab produced synthetic opal here if that’s what you’re looking for! Sold in a 2ml by volume flat cellophane bag, these may stick to packaging and can be removed with sparkle applicators or cocktail sticks.

Our Iridescent Flecks are plant based vegan glitter. Perfect for mixing with resin to give an opal or dichroic glass effect. These can be shown in swatches on any colour background but black is best to show off their amazing colour.

Using Iridescent Flecks

Iridescent Flecks work beautifully in epoxy and UV resin. The resulting colour and shade will depend on how much of them you use, how it’s placed and your other additions, inclusions and elements. You do not need very much at all; a little goes a very long way. Use a tiny measuring spoon to measure a little out, or an eyeshadow applicator.

You can use it with cremation ashes, for example, which vary in colour from white through to browns, greys and black, so adding this pigment will not change the natural colour of the ashes. The same applies for umbilical cord. You can combine these with our pigmented resin sparkle mixes here for a pastel shade. Perfect with breastmilk but can be difficult to show in photos – best shown off in a video.

Please make sure you tell your clients you cannot guarantee a shade but you can purchase Iridescent Flecks stock images from us (coming soon!)

Simply premix with resin then pour this into your mould, or push it into a mould already filled with resin. You can also add your clients’ elements or inclusions like breastmilk, lock of hair, umbilical cord and placenta or cremation ashes. Then cure in the usual way. Or you can add your resin to the mould before adding the forget-me-not flowers.

If working with UV resin we recommend you work in layers to achieve beautiful depths of colour.

Weight and Packaging Iridescent Flecks

Our mylar iridescent opalescent flakes are packaged in plastic-free cellophane bag 2ml. Approximately 2ml volume loose unpacked, not measured by weight.
