Synthetic Opal, inlay opal, crushed lab opal for birthstones and boobie award. Not just for the October birthstone, the five year Boobie Award (Nursiversaries), to represent a rainbow baby, the pride rainbow or the NHS, or just to add a little bit of bling to your jewellery!

Direct pour, channel rings and inlay settings and cabochon mould compatible.  It works beautifully with breastmilk, ashes, hair etc for all of your keepsake and memorial jewellery creations. Non-toxic non-infectious

How to Make It Yours

1. Choose your colour Thirty to choose from, or a set of ten rainbow colours, a set of twelve birthstone colours, or even all fifty two colours!

2. Add a kit Add on a DIY kit if you like, including UV medium and preservation powder (see below). This is great if you already have a setting for a project and just want to choose your own colour

3. Choose your size a 5ml bag, approx 1 level tsp, sold loose by volume not weight

2. We get to work: the items is lovingly packaged within our current turnaround time (see our FAQs and Terms of Service)
3. It comes to you: economically but safely shipped, ready to turn into a piece of wearable art for your clients

If you'd like to buy this ring as a kit you'll receive:

• 2x practice bezel settings 
• 1x pair of vinyl gloves 
• dust mask
• 3 cocktail sticks
• vibrant sparkle mix sample (another random colour to practice with) 
• 10g bottle of UV medium
• sandpaper 
• label backing paper
• 1x sachet Breastmilk Preservation Powder and Breastmilk Preservation Powder PDF Instructions (feel free to decline or pass this on if not needed!)
  

You can also request some practice ashes/faux cremains here. You might also want to provide the following optional items yourself (not included):

Synthetic Opal Material

Lab made synthetic precious stone, please do not label as "opal" only. The resulting vibrancy will depend on how much of the grains you use, how it's placed and your other additions, inclusions and elements. Cremation ashes, for example, vary in colour from white through to browns, greys and black. Nikki’s Tip: Use a black background to get the colours to pop most. If a client wants orange, I may use a teal opal that has orange flashes to complement the colour!

Size

Sold by volume, not weight. These are packaged by hand in South Wales, UK by Nikki's mum and we do our best to slightly overfill each bag.

Upselling

We recommend you buy a compatible necklace setting, for example a small necklace setting to accompany any ring, bead or necklace. Once you've made the keepsake, you can offer to make a necklace for a small extra charge (£30 or so). Around half of your customers will take you up on this.

Upsell accessories, such as a ring holder necklace along with any ring, especially for clients who work with their hands or need to take their ring off during the day.

Using Synthetic Opal

When photographing breastmilk jewellery with genuine or synthetic opal, or even opalescent mylar flakes, it can be tricky to get the colours to show nicely. You may get better reactions from potential clients by taking a short video, Nikki recommends using TikTok to show the piece sparkling in either daylight or perhaps in a lightbox. If you do photograph the piece, making use of saturation and vibrancy filters can help clients see how beautiful they are in real life whilst still being authentic and true to life.
