The Ayla Ring Setting

The Ayla Solitaire is a sophisticated cast ring setting for keepsake and memorial jewellery makers. It is a classic shape, the most easy to wear every day, comfort fit for arthritis and those whose size changes throughout the day.

Direct pour, but can be used with a 6mm round cabochon mould which you then glue in.  It works beautifully with breastmilk, ashes, hair etc, suitable for both epoxy and UV.

This ring is engravable, so you can add a hidden name, date, word or small detail inside the band for your client. Please get in touch if you would like a quote for a solid gold version.

    How to Make It Yours

    1. Choose your metal This ring is made in solid silver*

    2. Choose your kit Add on a DIY kit if you like, including UV medium and preservation powder (see below).

    3. Add your engraving A hidden name, a date they'll never forget, engraved inside the band, just for your client. We can work with pretty much any font, so get in touch if you have something specific in mind. A few of our most loved symbols:

    ❤ ☀ ☾ ★ ☽ ∞ ♫ 💧 🐾 👣

We can also do image engraving: handwriting, fingerprints, footprints, paw prints, handprints, or a pattern that means something to your client.

    *Solid Silver - Ring Material

This ring is solid EcoSilver - 925  sterling silver minimum, but it's actually our own blend of our own scrap sterling 925 and Argentium 940 which is slightly purer and more tarnish-resistant than sterling! Argentium is 100% recycled EcoSilver to protect the planet. Made in the UK from scratch (cast in England, finished by hand in Wales). See my page on Types of Solid Silver for more info.

The rings are made with a satin finish as standard. You can leave it satin, brush it back with sandpaper, or polish it to a mirror shine in your own workshop.

Nikki’s Tip: The burring I do inside this ring means resin isn't easily going to pop out. I prefer to direct pour this one for aesthetics but I always do a mockup for the client with a small stainless steel setting and send them a proof photo. When I do so, I offer them an additional piece for an extra £40 or so!

    Ayla Ring Size

Comfort fit, but we do not generally recommend you adjust your client's size to allow for fit. If they're a UK size P, choose a size P. US ring size 8, go for an 8. They are rounded on the inside, making it easier for anyone with arthritis or swollen knuckles. If you like, you can go down a half or quarter size to accommodate the comfort fit (your client's an N so make this ring in an M 1/2, or if they're a US 6 1/2, do this ring in a 6 1/4).

You cannot resize these rings after you fill with inclusions; you are always welcome to return or exchange if they don’t fit your client, so long as you haven’t added inclusions yet!

    Upselling

We recommend you buy a compatible necklace setting, for example a small necklace setting (for example) to accompany this ring and once you've made the ring, you can offer to make a necklace for a small extra charge (£30 or so). Around half of your customers will take you up on this.

This ring also works well with a ring holder necklace, especially for clients who work with their hands or need to take their ring off during the day.
