Vermeil Crown Round Necklace Setting – Gold plated silver (vermeil) round necklace, 24ct gold plated solid sterling silver 16mm or 10mm crown round necklace setting and option to create a kit. The 16mm setting includes a jump ring already attached so all you need to do is add a necklace chain and your resin cabochon. Does not include ashes etc or chain as shown in the pictures, but you can buy gold vermeil necklace chains from us here. Please be sure to explain to your customers that this is gold-plated silver, not solid gold! Blog coming soon on the differences between gold plated base metals, filled gold, gold vermeil, solid gold and pure gold. The plating on these is very thick (3 microns) so it’s resistant to wearing away and it’s thick enough to be called “gold vermeil” in the USA. You can buy a gold polishing cloth from us here!

You can even purchase stock images here that you can mark with your own watermark to get orders before you’ve made one yourself, just be sure to let customers know they’re mock-ups (examples). This necklace will be added to our stock images soon.

Making A Round Necklace

You can purchase the pendant setting by itself or as a kit. For this setting you’ll need a 16mm round cabochon mould. The rest of the kit contents are listed below if you’d like to buy it all separately and this can be more cost-effective if you’re making pieces professionally or making several for family members. We include a single mould with the kits but it’s easier to make two cabochons at once to offer your client a choice, so you may wish to purchase the double mould. You may want to order the complete set of resin sparkle mix blends, and other supplies, a pack of cocktail sticks, and larger bottles of resin for example.

If you’d like to buy this necklace setting as a kit you’ll receive:

• 1 x gold vermeil crown point round necklace setting 16mm with jump ring or 10mm without jump ring
• single round cabochon mould
• a dust mask
• 1x pair of vinyl gloves
• 3 cocktail sticks
• resin sparkle mix sample (random colour)
• 10g bottle of UV resin
• some sandpaper
• label backing paper here
• 1x sachet Breastmilk Preservation Powder and these Breastmilk Preservation Powder PDF Instructions (breastmilk kit only)

You can also request some practice ashes here. You’ll also need to provide yourself (not included):

• an epoxy resin starter kit or a gel nail lamp
• your clients’ elements an any additional sparkles, precious metal leaf or dried flowers etc
• a curved burnisher for rubbing over the bezel cup

Gold Vermeil Round Necklace Setting

Size: 16mm setting, jump ring is 6mm, 1mm thick.

I find that the gold vermeil range sells for at least £120/piece with a necklace chain, so it is worth the investment if you are good at upselling extras to your clients. Use our stock images to encourage sales.

Compatible Mould

You can choose to include a single compatible round mould or add a double 16mm round cabochon mould here. Please note the sizing info in the description!

Gold Vermeil – 925 Sterling Silver Plated With Gold

The silver in these settings is 925 sterling ecosilver, which is 100% recycled, plated with yellow or rose (red) gold with a thickness of one micron. In the UK this is known as gold vermeil but must be advertised as “silver plated with gold” or “gold plated silver”. Please see our blog on Types of Solid Silver which explains the care instructions for the silver and the metal content, Types of Gold explains more about vermeil. You can advertise these as 925 ecosilver or 925 sterling silver, please remember that because they are only one micron thick gold plated, they can’t be referred to as “vermeil” in the USA. Please check your own country’s laws on selling gold plated silver items!

Gold Vermeil Necklace Chain

Although this kit doesn’t include a chain, if you’re selling you might want to include a chain free of charge with necklaces as clients will usually expect a chain. We found on Tree of Opals that even if we advertised a piece as not including a chain, we used to still receive complaints that one was not included. You can buy a lightweight gold vermeil necklace chain here on Etsy or purchase one of our gold vermeil necklace chains here. We find you can make a little extra income from upselling chain upgrades and other accessories and ensure that your client has a strong, sturdy chain according to their needs, perhaps include a 16″ chain in with the price and offer to increase the length for a little extra cost.

Breastmilk necklaces we would definitely always advise are sold with strong chains like ours as many people ordering breastmilk jewellery will have babies and toddlers who will try to grab them! Just make sure that your client knows the necklaces are not child-safe, should be worn with care and common sense and not used as fiddle beads/teething jewellery! I tried to always make the difference between breastmilk jewellery and breastfeeding jewellery clear!
