Description
Solid Gold Channel Ring Setting made of solid 9ct or 18ct yellow or rose gold. No need for a bezel cup or mould, this ring is designed to be filled. You can work with UV resin and cure in layers, or put the ring on a cup spinner and use epoxy resin. They are extremely popular with synthetic opal and diamond powder along with your clients’ breastmilk, cremation ashes, hair, umbilical cord etc. You can use a lathe if you have one or simply fill carefully a little at a time until the resin is level with the surface.
These rings are custom made to order and can take around a month to make and hallmark, please see our sizing info below! We can also create this ring in any metal to order, just get in touch for a quote based on current metal prices such as platinum and palladium. You can order some channel ring stock images here (coming soon) to show your clients some mockups before they buy (please remember the instructions for use advise you to tell your clients results will vary!).
You can fill with resin in safe knowledge that it can’t pop out again if cared for properly.

Solid 9ct and 18ct Gold and Hallmarking
The gold in these settings is solid rose or yellow gold, in 9ct or 18ct depending on your choice, which is 100% recycled. Please see our blog on Types of Gold Jewellery Settings which explains the care instructions for the gold and the metal content. These gorgeous gold rings are made proudly in Scotland in the United Kingdom and are finished by us by hand after the sprues are removed.
You can advertise these as solid gold with a UK hallmark. It may be hallmarked at the Scottish Edinburgh Assay office or the Birmingham Assay Office; we reduce our carbon footprint by sending away as few batches as possible our casters may hallmark them for us from time to time. If you want to save time and receive a discount we can send these to you directly straight from casting for you to finish yourself, this is only available to goldsmiths who do not require a UK hallmark. Please contact us before purchasing.
Channel Ring Fitting and Finish
The Channel Ring is polished to a satin finish but please let me know if you would prefer shiny. We try to remove all scratches from the production process, especially gold so if you have any questions about the item you’re received please just get in touch. You’re more than welcome to refinish the rings yourself – we recommend these Micro-Mesh ultra fine sanding pads.
The Channel Ring is a wide band and not comfort fit, meaning it has a flat band internally. We highly recommend you find out your client’s ring size and recommend they go up one UK size (half a US size) to allow for the tight fit. You cannot resize these rings once filled with resin; they can be enlarged prior to filling, up to two UK sizes, with care by a goldsmith experienced in working with solid gold, please get in touch for advice. Stock images coming soon.
