Hairdressing scissors for cutting locks of hair and fur for keepsake jewellery, sharp scissors for shaping hair to put in moulds. Sharp hairdressing scissors and label backing paper are a lifesaver for manipulating hair, some people use a mixture of PVA (Elmer’s/school glue) and water, or hairspray to get the hair to stay in place after it’s cut to make shapes like a heart or a tree of life.

Making A Hair Ring with Hairdressing Scissors
Remember: every customer’s hair or fur will come a different colour or texture. Let them know before accepting an order that the results will vary and some hair isn’t going to be visible. White and light blonde hair/fur is notorious for going clear, “white” hair is often translucent rather than truly white and is a huge reason for complaints. Include this in your terms and conditions (even if they don’t bother to read them, you’re covered) and make sure to send proof photos.
Using Hairdressing Scissors
Use caution and proper personal protective equipment such as masks and protective eye goggles when working with resin and please be careful as these Hairdressing Scissors are very sharp! Wipe in between use with a biodegradable disposable cleaning wipe (if you can’t get biodegradable cleaning wipes you can use biodegradable baby wipes instead) and dry thoroughly. If the scissors get gunked up with resin, you can use sandpaper to file it off once it’s fully cured.
Be careful not to drop hairdressing scissors as it can knock them out of alignment reducing sharpness. You can sharpen them with a 1000 grit whetstone or replace as necessary
