The Engraving Service

Make your keepsake jewellery preservation service stand out. Either use it as a loss leader to get more orders or mark up the service to increase profits.

Each piece sent to us MUST be marked with the order number and preferably Sharpie marked where you'd like it engraved.

Stock images available, please take any of my UNWATERMARKED images!

Please get in touch if you would like to submit multiple pieces at once on a monthly basis so we can give you a spreadsheet and a discounted rate. We will not check, proof or send proof photos* so please ensure information is accurate before ordering.

How to Make It Yours

1. Add your reference It should be your own client's order number. If you have several pieces under the same order you could call it "PK23710Ring" or "PK23710a" etc

2. Choose text or image if you want both, please place separate orders, or add the text to the image file exactly as you want it! If you have cufflinks and they're both to be engraved, please order two. They each take time to set up and finish

3. Choose your font or upload image you can test out fonts here - please use common sense, if the ring has a 1.5mm band and you choose a script font like Eyelash, it will be too small to read! Don't forget to double check spelling. If you're uploading an image, make sure it's correct first.

4. Add your engraving text 

We can work with pretty much any font, so get in touch if you have something specific in mind. A few of our most loved symbols:

You can ask for other symbols in brackets like [cat emoji]. Birth, marriage and death coordinates are here

5. Item and Metal If the piece is something like a cufflink, please let us know in the comments. We can engrave most metals and jewellery items but if unsure, please check. Anything worth over £100 please let us know and choose Special Delivery as your return option.

6. Location Please choose "wherever you think is best" if you're not sure

7. Notes Just tell us if you want extra deep engraving (providing the metal is thick enough). Items are finished with 3000 grit sanding and magnetic tumble polished. Please ask if you don't want finishing or you'd like the engraving blackened.

How It Works

1. Order: Please pay and we will provide the address, you must mark your batch with our KS order number and each piece needs to be marked with its own order number.
2. We get to work: once the piece is received by us, we work within our current turnaround time (see our FAQs and Terms of Service) 
   
3. It comes to you: economically but safely shipped, ready to turn into a piece of wearable art for your clients

Extra Terms and Conditions

PLEASE NOTE: WE DON'T RECOMMEND ENGRAVING ON GOLD FILLED METALS BUT CAN DO IT. YOUR CLIENT MUST BE EXTRA CAREFUL AS THEY ARE MORE PRONE TO DAMAGE AND FLAKING.

We are insured to work with jewellery and as any work done by humans there may be small errors or flaws. If this happens, we will do our best to fix it or help repair the piece. We do not offer replacement or consequential loss payments. 

Nikki’s Tip: I prefer the look of engraving without blackening, but you can ask for it or apply it yourself. Black Sharpie works great but on deep engraving you can even cold enamel with UV nail polish!

*Proof photos: We don't offer these because it means holding up the line. If you require a specific position then please submit your engraving as an image and place it within the confines of the piece on the image

Upselling

We recommend you buy a compatible necklace setting, for example a small necklace setting (for example) to accompany any ring, bead or necklae. Once you've made the keepsake, you can offer to make a necklace for a small extra charge (£30 or so). Around half of your customers will take you up on this.

Upsell accessories, such as a ring holder necklace along with any ring, especially for clients who work with their hands or need to take their ring off during the day.
