Description

Solid Silver Engraving and Stamping Blanks for creating stamped and engraved keepsake jewellery, also beautiful just by themselves. All you need to do is stamp or engrave them then add a necklace chain or other findings. We offer text engraving or image engraving, or you can purchase metal stamp alphabets and emojis.

We found at Tree of Opals if we offer this to a client choosing a necklace or bracelet then many of them will choose to add it to their order, especially if they’re stamped or engraved. This is often the difference between getting a sale and the client going elsewhere, as they find it important to memorialise their loved one with writing or an image along with their hair or ashes, and breastmilk and baby jewellery clients love to see their little ones’ dates of birth etc. Blog to follow with more details!

Handstamping Solid Silver Stamping Blanks

We recommend you practice on a piece of copper if you’re new to handstamping and I have a blog to follow here. I’d recommend first purchasing a 1.5mm height letter set in uppercase letters and numbers like this one

Etching Solid Silver Blanks

Solid Silver Engraving and Stamping Blanks can also be etched with images very inexpensively with saltwater or ferric chloride and Press n Peel Paper (PCB paper) or  but please do this only if you have been trained to do so safely! You can even etch by hand mechanically with an etching tip on a rotary tool with a flex shaft or just a hand engraving tool. You can use a Cricut machine to create a negative stencil with vinyl to then etch with saltwater or ferric chloride or you can buy an etching tip for the Cricut. Blog to follow and the methods are endless…

925 Silver

Some are 925 solid sterling silver and some are anti-tarnish 935 solid Argentium silver. They each include a solid silver jumpring. They may or may not be stamped with the silver purity, please check the individual item or contact us to confirm if this is a requirement. We usually stamp the Argentium silver Solid Silver Engraving and Stamping Blanks as 935 and you can use this as a selling point, explaining to your client this is less likely to tarnish as it has a higher silver and lower copper content than 925 sterling silver. None of these settings are hallmarked (not required as they are under the UK hallmarking weight). Please see our blog on Types of Solid Silver which explains the care instructions for the silver and the metal content.
