Description
Prong Necklace Setting in solid sterling silver. This piece has a loop at the top already attached so all you need to do is add a necklace chain and your resin cabochon. Does not include ashes etc or chain as shown in the pictures, but you can buy necklace chains from us here.
These are great sold as add-ons or upselling when you’re making a Bubble Prong Ring or a Twisted Prong Ring. You can even purchase stock images here (coming soon) that you can mark with your own watermark to get orders before you’ve made one yourself, just be sure to let customers know they’re mock-ups (examples). Please note, they are not the easiest to set and take some practice. If you’re looking for an easy-to-set necklace setting we recommend a crown point setting with the compatible mould.

Prong Necklace Setting Size
Size: 5 x 15mm long prongs made of 0.8mm or 1.2mm wire with a sixth spoke at the top with a loop for threading the chain.
935 Argentium Silver
The silver in these pendants is 935 Argentium silver, which is 100% recycled and they are completely handmade in-house at Keepsaker Supplies. The silver is 935 Anti-Tarnish Argentium silver and we use sterling silver solder paste. Please see our blog on Types of Solid Silver which explains the care instructions for the silver and the metal content. You can advertise these 925 sterling silver but feel free to let clients know the band is 935 anti-tarnish silver, it is more resistant to blackening and firescale whilst retaining strength.
Treat With Care
Please note, as this setting is quite narrow (0.8-1.2mm) the soldered points are fairly small. Also, once pressed over the prongs will be subject to moving fairly easily. This is not an ideal necklace for a client prone to knocking it and it is not the sturdiest. We recommend you make sure that clients are aware this necklace needs to be treated carefully. If your client wants a sturdier necklace with a larger soldered surface area we recommend the crown point settings!
Necklace Chain
Although this prong necklace setting doesn’t include a chain, we sell some necklace chains here (click) and you can purchase the length you need according to your client’s preferences. You might want to buy in some inexpensive 20″/50cm lightweight chains to include free of charge with necklaces as clients will usually expect a chain. We found on Tree of Opals that even if we advertised a piece as not including a chain, we used to still receive complaints that one was not included. I doubt many people will read this and we will get complaints about the lack of chain but I want to give you the option to purchase them locally inexpensively or upsell your clients to a premium chain. You can usually get chains from local suppliers such as Cookson Gold (UK), Rashbel (Israel) and Rio Grande (USA). We find you can make a little extra income from upselling chain upgrades and other accessories and ensure that your client has a strong, sturdy chain according to their needs.
Breastmilk necklaces we would definitely always advise are upsold to stronger chains as many people ordering breastmilk jewellery will have babies and toddlers who will try to grab them! Just make sure that your client knows the necklaces are not child-safe, should be worn with care and common sense and not used as fiddle beads/teething jewellery! I tried to always make the difference between breastmilk jewellery and breastfeeding jewellery clear!
